Sustainability

It is our goal to develop a centre that recycles, reuses, and reduces our footprint on the world. Where possible, sustainability is embedded into our natural environment as much as we can. We are mindful in our daily practices of the importance of recycling and reusing and allow the children opportunities to be involved in the process understanding why and how we do this.

We plan activities with children in mind to allow opportunities to create, explore and question the world around them.

Encouraging children to think outside the box to use paper rolls, jars, lids, newspaper, magazines and any other recyclable household materials develops their awareness on how items can be reused and repurposed.

Our learning environments are created with recycling natural and sustainable materials in mind. To further this we embed small tree cuttings for building in the construction area, tiles, pipes, wood cuttings, sticks, rocks, logs or preloved kitchen utensils in the home corner and mud kitchen spaces, the list is endless.

Furthering our footprint on the world; we have a worm farm, compost space, vegetable and herb garden, recycling centre for families to add their donations and many other wonderful spaces available in the centre to promote Recycling, Reusing and Reducing our waste. We aim to provide a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment in which all children can feel confident to explore.
